Who is BSSL?

 

BSSL was founded in 2010 by business partners Thor Meyer and Gary Hunt.  Both are seasoned Interim Management Consultants with an extensive client base  and deep expertise in Finance Change.

 

BSSL provides specialised help to organisations looking to optimise their Finance and Commercial systems, processes and teams, because there is a burning business issue that needs to be addressed, urgently, equally because there may just be a well-founded suspicion that things just aren’t working as they should, which may be due to multiple issues.  Either way, we understand that there are many reasons to call in the consultants.  Whatever the reason, our mission is to work with you to ensure that your Finance function is performing at its peak; that it is providing a service that is perfectly balanced between the need to execute financial transactions efficiently and cost effectively, with unfluctuating accuracy, and the need to provide timely and robust management information and high quality ad hoc support to a wide range of internal and external customers.    

 

BSSL offers a discrete service to our clients.  From Day One we will integrate seamlessly with your organisation, working with you, not preaching, stating the obvious or patronizing your key people.  Our deliverable is the Change that addresses your organisation’s urgent and long term needs.  We will stand by our recommendations and our preference is always to work in partnership with our clients to see recommendations through to successful implementation.

It is not in our nature, nor indeed in our interest, to sell ‘one size fits all’ solutions to our clients.  Every assignment is different and will be treated as such.  We firmly believe that the key to process optimisation is to understand the issues very clearly and this demands first rate analysis.  Solutions must then be tailor made to suit the organisation for which they are intended.  They must fit the organisational model exactly.

 

We are in the business of helping organisations turn the corner.  But we also have an interest in injecting operational excellence into organisations that see this as a major source of competitive advantage.

 

When you call us, our first port of call is to sit down with you and simply listen.  We will then take things from there as we jointly see fit.

 

Typically we will start assignments with a Discovery Phase.  This involves an intensive few days of interviews, observation, fact-finding, workshopping and even focus groups.  This can be within your organisation or off-site, as you choose.  There are no management fads, no gimmicks and nothing involving different coloured belts.  Just old-fashioned common sense.

 

We will then go away and think about the issues and present back our plan.  We hope that you will choose us to work with you to implement it and achieve the best outcome for your organization.
